It’s autumn so time to get the slow cooker out! This classic beef stew is warming on a cold wet day. My mum used to make this for me. Getting your kids onto soup early is a great idea, because it's so versatile. Warming on a winters' day, it gives you the opportunity to use up any leftover veg and add if you add pulses (e.g. red lentils) or meat it becomes a hearty meal. I use a very descriptive title because if I see ‘muffin’, I expect flour to be in them! When I was weaning my daughter, I cooked the equivalent Frittatas on the hob and even if I washed up straight away, a fried smell always seemed to linger.
