It’s autumn so time to get the slow cooker out! This classic beef stew is warming on a cold wet day. My mum used to make this for me. This is what we call our “New York Breakfast” (also known as Drop scones and Scotch pancakes). Before Emily, I used to make a Lorraine Pascal’s pancakes. The recipe included tablespoons of sugar (note plural!), a vanilla pod all of which were a no no once our daughter came along as I had visions of her bouncing off the ceiling from all the sugar!
